I bought a couple of these to replace two old grips which literally fell apart. I wanted some slightly smaller ones, but those were out of stock and went for these. They seem very robust and inspire confidence. Much bigger for only a slightly bigger reach than my previous ones, but also much stronger. As other reviewers have said, the spring is strong and you'll also need fairly big hands to be able to hold one handed when they are closed. I take medium to large gloves and can just about manage it. I suspect they'd be tiring to use for a job where you were clamping lots of things and maybe a ratchet type is then better. Dunno, I'm no expert on clamps. They did do what I needed which was to firmly clamp some glued timber. I also used them whilst holding some wood in place for drilling/screwing where they were less successful. Although they clamp strongly, the yellow tips seemed to have less grip (slippery plastic) so smooth timber moved a lot. Might be better if roughed up a bit. Or perhaps I was just asking too much.
